Happy Chinese New Year Feb 18|07

The start of a new year always brings great interest in how the year will pan out. Since the year 2007 is the year
of the pig according to the Chinese zodiac, and not just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill year of the pig, but that of
the golden pig that supposedly comes only once in 600 years. People are really excited about it, because the
year of the golden pig is supposed to bring great wealth to anyone born during the year.

New Toy Feb 09|07

Bought myself a brand spankin' new Nikon L2 on the weekend. w00t!. The thing is really tiny. The handle bulge
holds a pair of AA batteries, so that gives you some Idea of scale of the thing. I wanted a nice little pocket type digital
camera, and this one fit the bill. Ironically enough considering my photgraphic experience, it's just a simple little
"entry level" digital camera. 6 megapixles, and it shoots video with sound as well, which is kinda nice.

One of these days I'll buy a nice digital SLR. Although for the amount of pictures I take, and the fact that I own
a bunch of 35mm gear already, it seems a bit pointless.

I'll take some pictures soon and post 'em here so you can see the quality. That and it gives me an excuse to
actually use the thing for something.

Documentary pick of the Week Feb 08|07

MOOG -

A feature lenth documemtary about a really interesting and unassuming man who just happened
to revolutionize the way we listen to music. Bob Moog (1934-2005) invented and built electronic musical
instruments for over half a century. From his workshops in upstate New York and later in rural
North Carolina, Moog shaped musical culture with some of the most inspiring instruments ever
created. Moog explains that he "can feel what's going on in a piece of electronic equipment ...
it's something between discovering and witnessing."

Lots of interviews with Mr. Moog as well as keyboard masters such as Keith Emerson and some really good
concert footage as well.

Bears fan must change his name to
Peyton Manning Feb 08|07

DECATUR, Ill. (AP) - Scott Wiese, a die-hard Chicago Bears fan, will legally change his name to
that of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning after signing a pledge in front of a crowd
at a Decatur bar last Friday night. He vowed to adopt Manning's name if the Bears lost Sunday's
Super Bowl. The final score was Colts 29, Bears 17. So on Tuesday, Wiese went to the Macon
County Courts Facility and started the process of changing his name. "I made the bet, and now
I've got to keep it," said the 26-year-old, who lives in Forsyth, just north of Decatur.

Wiese will now have to advertise his intention in the local newspaper - the Herald " Review - for
several weeks and then have a judge give him the OK to become, legally anyway, Peyton Manning.
The men have little in common, Wiese acknowledges. Manning the quarterback is 30 years old,
stands 6-foot-5 and has a contract with the Colts worth more than $100 million.

Wiese is 5-foot-11 and works at a Staples office-supply store for somewhat less.
"I think I kind of represent all Bears fans," he said. "Not that I'm saying they're all idiots like me,
but I represent their passion because I really care about my team, you know?"

While he pledged to take on the new identity, Wiese didn't make any promises about how
long he would keep it.

Welcome to the new jasonhoehn.com Feb 03|07

It's a brand new era for the internet!, the new jasonhoehn.com is up and running
So watch out Bill Gates, It'll be bigger than youtube!, bigger than google!
Okay, maybe not, but it has been a while, and the old site was starting to look dated. I figured
it was time for a digital enema, so to speak. There are a few tweaks that still need to be done, a few
re-alignments and a couple other little things, but overall I quite like the way this one has turned out

All of the original content is back, but with some great new stuff, and a fresh new look. So surf around,
check out the new sections and let me know what you think. Suggestions?, comments?, shoot us an e-mail

The website will see changes happen quickly, so check back often

And don't forget to check my other website, (also recently updated) www.pegwarmers.tv

which revolves around the often misunderstood subculture of sci-fi and fantasy fandom

$30,000 for a pair of sunglasses?? Feb 03|07

So i decided to google myself today, purely out of curiosity, and there were a couple of links
for some hollywood designer named, you guessed it, Jason Hoehn

Turns out the dude is some kinda super-expensive jeweler that builds crap for the stars.
and get this, one of his premier pieces are these sunglasses worth $30,000.00

That's right: THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS

Guys like Nelly, Usher, and Snoop all own a pair. Just 'cuz you have money doesn't mean
you have taste, I guess.

In case you have 30 large burning a hole in your pocket and want to blow it on on
some really butt-ugly shades, here's the website. www.nefariousdesigns.com

Which reminds me, I need to go get some new sunglasses, My $12 pair bought it a few days ago

It was sand in the water, and floating ON TOP of the waves ... Was it a toxic spill? was it space aliens?!?
